Would you like to know your Metabolic Rate?

Our MetaCheck Metabolic Rate Test is a simple, 10 minute breath test. During the test, the air you breathe out is analyzed to determine exactly how much oxygen your body consumed. You will receive a full page printout that will compare your metabolic rate to predicted normal values based on your height, age, weight, & sex. It will also suggest caloric intake based on your metabolic rate. Body fat and weight will also be measured on our scale.

The Long Beach Open: Racquetball Tournament

April 9th - 11th

The Belmont Athletic Club is hosting the 2015 Long Beach Open. This event will showcase the best players in the world from the International Racquetball Tour, competing for a $25,000 prize   purse. Only doubles. No Amateurs.  This is the first event of its kind  in the history of professional racquetball. Murphy's will have a live feed on all of the HD TVs.

Gym Etiquette & Weight Room Safety

 Follow these guidelines to prevent injuries in the club.

1. AVOID "sitting" on equipment for an extended period time.  2. RETURN equipment to proper place when finished. 

3. Wear CLOSED toed shoes.  4. Choose a weight you can lift for 8-10 reps.  5. Maintain good posture.  6. Ask for a spot

if you are lifting heavy.  7. Avoid slamming or dropping the weights. Some may bounce off the floor resulting in bodily

injury. 8. Avoid slamming or bouncing the weight stacks between reps. The cables may snap resulting in bodily injury. 

9. Place water bottles & personal belongings off to side, out of open areas. 10.Use designated areas for stretching, not

the weight room. 11. BE AWARE of those around you. DO NOT STAND in front of the weight racks to perform exercises 

12. Keep it clean - Wipe down equipment after use  13. Keep cell phone use to the lobby only - AVOID using in

weight room & locker room.  14. Limit perfumes & lotions while working out.

Bobbie J. Sterbins, MS, LAc received her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from Samra University of Oriental Medicine in March, 2000 and became a Licensed Acupuncturist in July, 2000. While at Samra she specialized in Orthopedic Acupuncture and Tui Na (medical Chinese massage) which culminated in an internship at the Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology, China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing.
