2013 September

BACK TO THE GRIND

You may not be a student anymore but September can still be used as a time to re-set and get focused. If your workout is getting too ‘routine’ why not shake it up?! Your body will thank you, and getting out of the rut and monotony of the same ol’ workout might even push you to new heights you didn’t think were possible. Have some fun with your workout- there are so many options at The Belmont that reaching your fitness goals can be enjoyable and completely catered to you.

There are nearly 100 classes offered weekly at The Belmont- surely something for every body. Classes have got you covered at 5:10am, lunch-time, nights, and even weekends! Fitness apps and videos can be downloaded onto your phone or tablet to follow along while at the gym. If you’ve not booked a complimentary Fitness Appointment yet this is a great way to get guidance from our educated staff. They’ll help get you started safely and effectively so you make the most of your time in the gym. Personal Training provides structure and accountability. Partner with a Personal Trainer to take your workouts to the next level. Group Training provides the same accountability as Personal Training but you get to workout alongside your new workout buddies, motivating each other and providing a healthy little dose of competition. Group Training with a few other people is also more cost effective than one-on-one Personal Training.

LONG BEACH LOSERS

Justin Rudd’s 7th Annual Long Beach Losers weight loss challenge is back! Participants are weighing-in for 12 weeks right in front of The Belmont. Although it’s a team effort each individual has his and her own weight loss goal. When you pass them on Wednesday mornings and evenings on your way into the gym, offer up a word of encouragement! The Belmont is offering our support with a special Training & Nutrition Program catered specifically to them. If you are a ‘Loser’ or know of any non-member ‘Losers’ please spread the word that we’d like to support them and get them into our program.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTTY!

Have you noticed the plaque above Racquetball Court 2 “Scotty’s Place. Mentor, friend, and inspiration”? Scotty Deeds is the man behind the plaque and he turns 91 this month. You can read all about his coaching legacy and how he ‘breathed life into athletics’ in a July issue of the Grunion Gazette. Meet Scotty in front of the racquetball courts every Monday, Wednesday, or Friday to hear his stories firsthand. Scotty, you’re an inspiration to us all- happy birthday!

“Everything we do begins and ends with our members.”
